Our Story
Based in Franklin, Auckland but covering the whole of New Zealand, Design to Renovate is spearheaded by Kim Reiche.
Kim, being a qualified Interior Architect has many years of design and construction experience under her belt, starting with renovating high-end homes on the Natal North Coast of South Africa. Coming to New Zealand in 2002 saw her assisting and working alongside some of New Zealand's top architects, designers, and developers sourcing product for projects across New Zealand from suppliers across the globe.
In 2014, armed with strong determination and the learnings she received from working with prestigious brands and clients, Kim decided to develop her own business and purchased a leading international renovations franchise, with further expanding on this, by developing a second franchise in 2019.
Kim successfully ran and grew these franchises up until late 2022 winning multiple awards, until she decided to launch her own brand - Design to Renovate. This new venture was born out of her passion for design and extensive construction experience. It is not often interior designers understand the complexities of the build and have the knowledge of the actual implementation or the understanding of a solution.
Taking all this combined knowledge into account as well as her integrated design-centric approach, it is Kim’s hope to bridge the gap in the industry with Design to Renovate. You as a client can either gather the information needed to complete your own renovation or if required, engage us to provide the all-important design and documentation to achieve the best possible outcome for your renovation.
The team offers a bespoke blend of services that includes interior design, conceptual design, architecture design, build documentation through to Project Management and more.
